The big game is coming up, and no matter which team you're rooting for, I think it’s safe to agree we’re all on Team Super Bowl Snacks. Am I right? Or am I right?
From chips and dips to wings, there’s no shortage of greasy, cheesy, tasty treats that go hand in hand with all things football. But my personal favorite is the slider, also known as the fun-size sandwich or the mini mouth delight (OK, I just made that last one up). The wonder that is a slider has all the best parts of a sandwich (condiments and toppings) without an overwhelming amount of bread and meat. It’s simply brilliant.
So to help you get excited for the big game – because let’s be honest, many of us are just in it for the snacks – here's my favorite slider recipe:
What You'll Need: 1 pound of ground beef, turkey or chicken
1 small can of smoked chilies
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon liquid smoke
¾ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt & pepper
1 egg
Rolls
Directions:
Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Pat into small patties and either cook in the oven on broil or make your life simple, throw them on a Foreman grill.
They take under 10 minutes to cook, so if you’re feeling extra fancy, or it’s not too cold outside where you live… throw them on the BBQ for a tasty treat in a matter of minutes.
Sauté some mushrooms, add some avocados and finish off with the condiment of your choice. Blue cheese dressing is nice or make a great easy sauce with ketchup, mayonnaise and a couple dashes of hot sauce or red chili flakes! Recipe by Chef Michelle Karam
